Philly Third Graders Love Their Classroom!

My Project

This project has a little bit of everything included! Each year, I talk to students about DonorsChoose and introduce them to the website. We sit together and think through what they loved about our third grade classroom before they get ready to move on to their fourth grade classroom. This year, we held a thirty minute discussion and brainstormed ways to make Mrs. Sheehan's room even better for next year's class of third graders.

My current third graders showed kindness, appreciation and gratitude today when they collaborated with me on this wish list for next year's third grade class.

It includes new treasure chest items that I give out weekly, a class set of pencil cases for students to have their own materials ready at their desk, and even a new set of their favorite Bad Kitty book series to replace this year's well-loved copies. They also wanted to include some fun, like new "fairy lights" to decorate our hard work board. New sharpies for anchor chart work were also requested, and magnetic fraction manipulatives to help make our toughest math standards easier to access. I was so proud of this group of students and I am excited to (hopefully) provide these fun items to a new cohort next year.
