My Project

This summer, I have had the privilege of attending a training focused on the use of interactive notebooks in science as a powerful tool to help students make sense of phenomena, cultivate a deep understanding of scientific concepts, and foster a love for scientific inquiry.

Interactive science notebooks are not just traditional notebooks; they are dynamic, personalized learning tools that empower students to take ownership of their education.

By actively engaging with the content, students become co-creators of knowledge, making connections, and exploring scientific principles and phenomena in a meaningful way. Through hands-on labs, scientific articles, and observations, they record their investigations, models, and reflections, transforming their notebooks into a personal record of their scientific journey.

To fully embrace notebooking in science, my students require a range of supplies that will facilitate the implementation of science notebooks in our classroom. The requested materials, such as rulers, pencil sharpeners, a paper cutter, desk caddies, and erasers are essential for organizing notebooking supplies at their tables and creating an efficient workflow. The rulers will help students create accurate lab tables and pencil sharpeners will ensure that they always have sharp pencils to jot down their ideas and reflections. With paper cutters, I can trim articles and handouts, allowing students to neatly fit them into their notebooks alongside their notes and sketches. Desk caddies will provide a designated space to store our notebooking supplies and lastly, erasers will encourage students to feel confident in revising and refining their work, fostering a growth mindset as they see their scientific understanding evolve.
