My Project

This project is intended to equip my special education classroom with sensory and fidget tools that students may need to succeed. Sensory overload is a common thing that occurs in children with neuro-diverse needs, where small things like bright overhead lights or an itchy t-shirt can be enough to trigger an overwhelming panic. With headphones, it reduces the intensity of auditory input from the environment! Likewise, having sensory strips can be a soothing form of sensory input to distract away from more triggering stimuli. The same can be said about fidget tools and adaptive seating, which provide students a motor outlet to regulate their bodies!
