Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class has 20 students who are full of life and a desire to learn and achieve more. These are kids who have so much love and respect in their hearts and minds, and I cannot wait to bring that out further in to our classroom.
My students are blossoming in their education, despite being at a Title 1 school, and in a low income community.
Many students at our school are newly learning English, and don't have opportunities to practice at home. This is their chance - I don't want to miss this opportunity!
My Project
The pillows will help my students be more comfortable in the learning environment. I plan to use the vinyl to personalize our space and to create class t-shirts to create a higher level of comfort as a classroom family. These small steps allow us to build our classroom community. The resources will also help to make learning more tangible for my students.
I am looking forward to continue making hands on resources for their reading and math learning.
My students are still learning how to work cooperatively. These resources will assist them in that endeavor by providing hands on practice for essential skills.
These kids have not been raised to love school, or desire to come. I hope to change that for them. Hopefully my efforts will increase our attendance and overall learning that will happen in the comfort of our classroom by offering fun ways to master educational skills.
