This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My new students this year are very active second graders (7 - 8 year-olds) in an Integrated Co-Teaching environment (one general ed and one special ed teacher). I am the Special Education Teacher of the team. They are our ‘shining stars’ who come to school eager to ‘brighten’ their days with exciting learning opportunities. They have been settling into their daily routines and helping to make our classroom a welcoming, organized and safe environment for learning. They are all great helpers!
My Project
Students will be able to function better knowing that their personal items and tools for learning are easily accessible at their seats. Having so many students, we don’t have enough seat storage area for all of them to keep all their books, notebooks, pencils, folders, textbooks, and other learning tools that will be needed to be easily accessible throughout the day. If not, they will need to keep going back to their cubbies and book bags to get those items each period. That will cause interruption to the flow of the day. These seat sacks will help prevent those interruptions to learning.
