Personal Finance for High School Students

My students need 14 financial calculators.

Students are ready to use technology of all kinds, but I need to connect their personal finance future to that usable technology. In my Personal Finance class, students will be calculating car payments, house payments, student loan payments, and even projecting their retirement finances.

I have contacted local banks about using their education/community service funds and have not had any success. I see personal finance for high school students as a missing piece of their total education. Students leave my school with a diploma, but their are lacking the skills of money management.

I am using a finance curriculum from the University of Arizona to teach personal finance. There are units in this curriculum that require a financial calculator to complete. My school does not have the technology funds available to purchase these 14 calculators. I currently have 12 students enrolled in the course.

With your help, my student will have a real picture of their financial future. They will see how their future/current income from employment will be spent to have the quality of life they desire.
