This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching low-income students in an inner-city school you get to see the disadvantages and struggles they face. My students' biggest struggle with distance learning was not having supplies that they needed to support their learning.

The majority of my students come from low-income homes where their caregivers cannot afford to purchase the necessary materials to make math class more engaging.

Given that we are returning to school after the pandemic, I would like to provide each student with their own materials that can be kept at the school or take home.

My Project

Math is a subject that can be very difficult for students to understand. Having hands-on lessons to engage students is ideal for learning. Students will be able to use their basic supplies to learn math while staying engaged.

Given that students are coming back from distance learning, I want to ensure that every student has their own set of basic supplies without having to share.

These supplies will be for the student to keep throughout the entire year. If the student decides to switch to online learning, they will be able to take their supplies home.
