Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year, students have read poems and stories from around the world, most of which they've accessed online. They've written outstanding analyses of figurative language, literary devices, and other authorial choices in works that span both time and the region.

Now, as I plan to teach this stunning coming-of-age novel, I hope to give students a chance to hold it in their hands.

A class set of books would make a huge difference. With this book, I plan to coach students through critical analysis of a multimodal text. I also plan to engage them in social-emotional learning regarding coming of age during a time of political and social change.
