FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Qualls's classroom raised $488
This project is fully funded
I have the great pleasure of working with preschool children with disabilities in an elementary school. We are trying to get these special children ready for kindergarten so that they can be better prepared and included in their kindergarten classes.
Just like preschoolers all over, my kiddies love to work with puzzles. We have monthly units based around a repetitive or predictable book that helps us enrich their language and communication skills. For each unit, I try to stock each center with relevant supplies, such as putting pizza boxes in the home/kitchen area for our pizza unit and putting falling leaves in the tactile table for the fall unit. One area that I am lacking in is our puzzles. I am lucky if I have two puzzles per unit to put out in addition to our number or animal puzzles that I switch out all year. My students need to be exposed to new vocabulary several times before it sticks in their cute little brains, and when we are able to incorporate fine motor activities in conjunction with new vocabulary, they learn it a lot quicker.
The supplies I need are very simple to explain. I need developmentally appropriate puzzles and puzzle racks to store them in, so that the children can be as independent as possible. I teach 13 exceptional students, all of whom would be ecstatic to work with new puzzles! Thank you!
