My Students
Imagine a wing full of independent and inquisitive fourth graders all working toward their own learning goals. Our wing is a think tank filled with the leaders of tomorrow. We are unique and their learning is important to the global future.
Our school is located in one of the most vibrant cities in the Northeast!
It is home to a diverse base of families and a spectrum of socioeconomic backgrounds. Every classroom mirrors the diversity in our beautiful city.
About half of our students receive free or reduced-cost lunch, while many others do not. This is what makes our grade level and school a rich and vibrant community much like Portland. These students deserve a vibrant and diversified learning experience that highlights this.
My Project
During such active times, it is imperative that students have engaging learning opportunities that are current to the times they live in. Storyworks from Scholastic and Time for Kids are just the literature boosts they need.
Storyworks and Time For Kids are vibrant standards-aligned learning resources that promote deep thought, current event awareness and engagement.
They are both released with up-to-date information and current events in mind. This periodicals are accompanied by several resources for teachers who can use each article for multiple standards. Students and teachers love Storyworks and Time for Kids because they provide fun and engaging articles and stories that support learning across the content areas.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
