Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work at a school that is very low-income and has a large homeless population. It also has a large newcomers population from other countries. Many of them do not have basic needs such as. Pads or tampons. Some girls even skip school altogether because they don’t want to go without period supplies. This means that they’re missing at least a week of school each month.
By providing me with period products, I can make sure that these students continue their education.
The girls would not have to be embarrassed for bleeding through their pants when they come to school. We would increase attendance rates and graduation rates with more period products. Thank you for all you do and your consideration. I will not be able to do without you.
