This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Your donation will help my students gain access to period products in the privacy of the girls locker room. Girls need to feel safe and suported in order to feel confidient and not worried about bleeding through their pants while in class. They cannot be successful in the classroom if they have phyical worries about their body. Our goal is that all girls in our school have equal access to period product resources.
Our students are special because our school is 87% Hispanic and an Equity Focused School, with a majority of our student living at or below the federal poverty line.
Students' socio-economic status should not play a role in their safety and access to essential resources.
