Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach Spanish at a Title I high school in the Los Angeles area. More than 70% of our students qualify for free lunch. My students enjoy learning Spanish through different sources besides the textbook. They enjoy the different technology applications that we use in class.
My Project
These materials will help me help my students improve their Spanish because they will learn through the use of more resources. Learning a new language can be challenging especially when the only resources provided to teachers and students are textbooks. Often times teachers have to find many other resources to make class interesting and to get student’s attention. With this Performer Plus Learning Center, my students will have the opportunity to listen to other authentic audio recordings, they will also be able to record themselves when they practice speaking their dialogues and to listen to textbook-related audio resources.
