My Students
We are a Title I school in the heart of Texas. My students are inquisitive, energetic, and curious. We are a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics magnet school. My students want to grow up to be computer scientists, geologists, environmental engineers, mechanical engineers, roboticists, and the like.
My students pledge to push the boundaries of science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, and computer science.
My Project
Our students are returning to in-person learning after more than a year of virtual and hybrid learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With cases still rising in our area as we return, there is a need to implement COVID safe policies with respect to what were formerly shared classroom supplies.
My students need perfect personal pouches of supplies to help them transition back to in-person learning.
These pouches will give my students access to personal supplies that can be easily sanitized and stored after each use, thus easing their transition back to the classroom. This donation will allow our classroom to have a series of numbered (labeled) personal pouches with needed supplies for each student stored in totes. Students will use compasses, rulers scissors, glue, tape, and color pencils/markers to document work from hands-on STEM activities, such as circuitry design. The copper tape and LEDs will give each student an opportunity to experience building circuits 1:1. The dry erase markers and sheets will give students a means to publicly document their progress and the sanitizing wipes will help to ensure that each pouch is clean and sanitized after used.
