Yea! It's time to get ready for school! I love being a 3rd grade teacher. I teach at an inner city school in the great state of Texas and I can't wait for school to start.
I have been preparing for school all summer. Painting posters, laminating like crazy, and looking for great school supply deals, but a computer station is a little out of reach for me.
My district offered technology courses during the Spring for any teacher that wanted to increase their knowledge, and as a thank you, they gave those teachers a new (flat screen) computer with a web cam. I jumped on that offer as fast as I could and my classroom computer is just waiting to be set up.
I have two computer stations set up in my classroom that my students are encouraged to use daily. Eight and nine year old students are not too crazy about math, so I have to spark that interest any way I can, and computer hour works every time. What I would love for them is a computer station that is user friendly for their little 3rd grade arms and legs. I currently have a proposal listed asking for computer stations, and I am still hoping, but I have 5 computers that I want accessible, so I am asking for another station area. I know I am asking for a lot, but I definitely push it to the limit when it comes to my students. My students deserve to have every advantage.
