My Project
My students are adventurous readers with vivid imaginations and a love for myth, magic, and meaningful stories. They are the kind of readers who cheer for heroes, question motives, and draw deep connections between fiction and real life. What I love most is how they support one another through shared reading experiences that build confidence, vocabulary, and a sense of community with every chapter we explore together.
A class set of Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters will allow my students to continue their journey with Percy as he navigates new dangers, friendships, and quests rooted in Greek mythology.
After reading The Lightning Thief, students were hooked by the action, humor, and deeper themes of loyalty, identity, and resilience. Book 2 deepens these themes and provides rich opportunities for literary analysis, character study, and mythological comparisons. It also sparks excitement about reading, even among reluctant readers, as students can’t wait to see what happens next.
With your support, each student will have their own copy to annotate, analyze, and enjoy. This resource will allow us to dive deeper into literature while reinforcing comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills. Most of all, it will give students the joy of continuing a beloved series together and show them that reading can be a lifelong adventure.
