Percussion Instruments Needed...Again?!?!?!?

My students need a timpani for concert band.

I teacher beginning and middle school band in an inner city school in Connecticut. We are a Title I school with almost 90% os my students receiving free or reduced lunches. I ma a second year teacher building a band program after a short break between my predecessor and myself.

I have been working to make my young drummers have a well rounded and complete percussion experience. We have snare drums, and we recently received a new bass drum. We are working on getting bells. Now we need timpani.

Timpani are the large drums often played at orchestra and band concerts. I took my students to see a professional band play and they asked me why we didn't have the cool loud drums. I did not have an answer. We should have them too!

I want to let them play everything they should be able to. I want them to get the best experience possible. They deserve it. I need timpani for my students.
