Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Thirty students make up our Fourth Grade class. They are hard workers, respectful, and eager to learn. We set the academic bar high and they rise to the occasion; with some surpassing the set goal.
We are a Title I school using technology and empowering our students.
The students thrive on taking charge of their own learning, creating projects, and discussing various events that are happening at our school. We show a love for reading, and our reading levels increase!
My Project
The "Who Was/Who Is" books are a biography series that cover the lives of famous people in history: presidents, engineers, inventors, writers, artist, and those who changed the world.
These biography books will expose my students to people they may or may not have heard of.
The stories they will read will take them all over the world, to various time periods, and expose them to a world that they never knew about.
The purpose of these books is to have the students do a research project where they present their person and explain to their classmates everything they learned about that person's life. Each student will create a mini book and have it on display for Open House.
