This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My First Grade students are from a variety of backgrounds. Several are newcomers to the USA. Most are living in poverty and most receive free or reduced priced meals at school along with backpacks of food for their families each Friday. However, they are still bright and eager to learn. I want to give them the best tools to help them succeed.
My students are beginning to write stories that others (adults and children) will read. My students need to practice writing the letters of the alphabet correctly so that their writing is legible to others. The dry-erase boards I am asking for will give them this practice when we are doing word dictation lessons every day in our large group setting.
I need 25 dry-erase boards with writing lines, 25 dry-erase markers and 25 erasers. These resources will help my students practice writing letters/words correctly and legibly.
Writers come from many backgrounds. There could be the next Eric Carle or Nancy Carlson in my classroom! Great penmanship will help my students get their story "message" across to readers. Don't you want to be the person who helps to "launch" the next great writer?
