Help me give my students plantable pencils, so they can watch them grow.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Bradley's classroom raised $623

My Students
My students are varied in their background and beliefs. We are a Title I school with all of the students eligible for free breakfast and lunch.
We have a school garden, and the science department would like to promote environmentally friendly pencils.
Our students use a lot of pencils, and it would be great if we had pencils that could be planted once they have outlived their usefulness as a writing utensil.
So, I am requesting pencils that can be planted.
My Project
We have a great school garden. Our garden has many different species. Our students use a lot of pencils. We want to be environmentally friendly. The students asked if they could do something with the little pencils besides throwing them away. They researched and found that some pencils can be planted, and vegetables, flowers, or herbs would grow. They asked if we could get some. We are a Title 1 school so I told them I would ask.
How nice would it be to have the pencils turn into plants?
