This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students need mechanical pencils to erase their mistakes and allow their education to run more efficiently.
My students are inner city kids who attend a public middle school.
Lots of them are amazing students with a huge desire to achieve great things. However a lot of them and their families are financially challenged. They do not come to school with the necessary materials.
My Project
Mechanical pencils can help a math class run more effectively. There are far fewer interruptions when students do not constantly need to sharpen their pencils. They would also really appreciate this nice gift. When students do not have a pencil I lend them a little golf pencil which is difficult to work with.
I believe the act of helping my students receive mechanical pencils will benefit their learning and bring a smile to their faces.
Pencils are the most important tool for a math class and this will be incredible.
