My Students
My students are young men and young ladies who live in the "most dangerous" city in the US as well as being labeled one of the "highest poverty rates." They struggle daily in many ways to make it to school, but once they arrive they are ready to go. We have breakfast together and then we are off on our learning adventure for the day. My students come to school to learn. They have plans for college, and to reach those goals we push every day to overcome the struggles they face.
My Project
Supplies are so limited in our building that we are now out of pencils and our markers are almost gone. So the supplies are very much needed in our classroom. We use the colored pencils and markers for our endless projects that we create each month from book reports to science labs. We need a pencil sharpener because ours is on its last leg. As spring will be around the corner the end of the year isn't and that is why I created a project for the supplies we need for the rest of the year and to begin in September.
Everything we do in our room involves a writing utensil so imagine how everything is becoming a challenge.
