My students need quality pencil sharpeners, staplers, and tape dispensers to be self-sufficient in the classroom. With enough supplies to go around, work time will be more efficient.
My students work hard. We spend the day learning rigorous content. We work on science. We read. We write. We read. We read some more. My students are from various backgrounds with a range of abilities, and we push ourselves every day to learn and have fun.
My 5th graders are self-sufficient, they know how to run the classroom so that it runs like a well-oiled machine.
But 5th graders using staplers and pencil sharpeners make mistakes, and our supplies often end up broken over the course of the year.
Having new pencil sharpeners and staplers will keep our classroom running smoothly. When we have enough supplies to go around, it just makes everything we do a little easier.
My Project
We need X-acto pencil sharpeners with pencils to sharpen, as well as erasers to erase the mistakes we make with those pencils. We need Scotch tape dispensers and tape to hold our work together. We need a stapler (and you guessed it, staples) to attach work in our journals to keep track of our learning.
Having enough supplies to share in the classroom makes life easier.
No more waiting for 2 staplers to go around the room, or running out of pencils and tape. A well-supplied room let's us focus on what's important - learning! Less down time, more learning. That's what being in school is all about!
