My Project

My students are an incredible community that works alongside their teachers, coaches, and admins to reach their post-graduation goals. We have several graduation pathways for our students, and I have worked hard with my wonderfully supportive administration to build a graduation pathway specifically for students that are planning on going into a creative field. This pathway includes providing students the ability to take a series of dual-credit college courses with me through a partnership with a local community college, as well as go on internships during their 11th and 12th-grade years. All of this is in addition to their established art and design classes.

The Arts Graduation Pathway is a unique and incredible opportunity for my students, AND we have a full class set of iPads just waiting to be added to the art and design studio; however, we do NOT have Apple Pencils for those iPads.

As any designer can tell you, an iPad without an Apple Pencil isn't much use for graphic design. In order to use this incredible resource, we need twenty-five 1st generation Apple Pencils for our iPads. The cases my school has already fitted on the iPads even have a space for the pencils already!

It is my goal to not only teach the hows and whats, but also the best practices within an industry, and at this point, the majority of design work is done on tablets. It is just the reality of the field; I want to make sure my students get that experience, and I am so close to being able to provide it.
