Peer to Peer is a class that encourages servant leadership, friendship, and inclusion. Our goal is to allow every kid in our building to be seen as a kid first. Seen first as a person beyond any other descriptor, disability, etc. We work with our students to create relationships and be a conduit of friendship for students who may have difficulty finding those connections.
We host a variety of events throughout the year to foster inclusion and fellowship.
At these events, we often offer snacks, middle school kids need snacks. We love the fellowship and conversation that occurs around the "dinner table." Our school district does not allow us to purchase food items with our budget. Last year, I spent over $500.00 to feed kids at these events. For my husband's sake, I am trying to work to find alternative solutions to feeding these awesome kids!
