My Project
I started a new class called Peer STEM this year. Peer STEM is a class that our level 3 special education students in grades 4-8th grade come into my STEM room and I pair them up with 2 general education 8th graders. We have lessons on computer science, engineering, cooperative learning and we have even paired up with Peer PE and created a dance-dance computer science activity.
This class has not only given the special education students a chance to complete STEM learning but also my general education students a chance to learn from them.
My general education students have learned how to be leaders, have empathy, ask questions in multiple ways, and how to collaborate and listen to many different types of learners.
This TPT gift card will help me bring new ideas into my Peer STEM class. There are many great lessons already out there where I would be able to change just a little bit and make it work for my class. This will save me time and will be able to bring more activities into my Peer STEM classroom.
