Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These tricycles will accommodate the new class of PreK students that is being added to our school in the fall. The additional tricycles will allow more students to access them, and reduce the wait times for students to have a turn.

Riding tricycles involves pedaling, steering, and balancing, which promotes the development of core strength, leg strength, and eye-hand coordination.

It also supports social skills as they learn to follow rules, interact with others, and problem-solve as they ride together and navigate the space.

My students come from a neighborhood where safe outdoor spaces aren't available to them. Our playground toys and equipment make outdoor playtime fun, as well as support developing gross motor skills, including traveling and balance, and social skills including cooperation, collaboration, and problem-solving.
