Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a Title 1 second grade, in a high need community, at a Program Improvement School.
My students have shown a great interest in science. We need hands on manipulatives to help them explore and grow in the field of science.
I need 5 science kits and a rock collection. These kits offer exciting investigations and literature. The students will first use the rock kit to learn more about classifying rocks and minerals. They will use the plants kit to learn about plants and how they grow. The insect kit will give them experiences in the actual growth of a plant. The insect kit will teach them about the life cycle of different insects, such as butterflies and ladybugs. The magnetism kit will help them to understand about the magnetic poles and what a magnet can pick up. These kits will be used by my students during the whole school year and well increase their learning and interest in science.
Your help will ensure that my students get a well rounded science education. The students really love science and these kits will help them to experience science at it's core.
