My Project

A sensory cuddle box is a vital tool to help students develop self-regulation skills by offering them a safe, comforting way to manage overwhelming emotions and sensory input. Many young children, especially those with sensory processing challenges, autism, ADHD, or emotional regulation difficulties, struggle to express or control their feelings appropriately in the classroom. A cuddle box provides calming sensory items—like weighted blankets, soft stuffed animals, squishy toys, fidget tools, and textured fabrics—that offer deep pressure or soothing tactile input to help calm their nervous system.

When students become overstimulated, anxious, or frustrated, the sensory cuddle box gives them a positive, predictable strategy to manage those feelings independently.

Instead of acting out or withdrawing, they can engage with familiar, comforting objects that help ground and settle them. Over time, this builds emotional awareness, supports healthy coping strategies, and encourages independence in self-regulation.

Integrating a cuddle box into the classroom also creates a more inclusive and supportive environment, reducing behavioral disruptions and helping all students feel safe and understood.
