Peaceful Lighting

Help me give my students a more sensory-friendly environment. Harsh overhead lights can be very overstimulating; however, lamps are inaccessible due to the electrical layout of the room. These light covers help meet this need.

My Project

Working with primarily autistic students with high sensory demands is often a challenge. Harsh overhead lights are overstimulating and irritating to students, leading to sensory and behavioral issues.

The electrical layout of our classroom does not allow lamps, and lamps cause a danger due to light bulbs being appealing to curious students.

These light covers allow us to use the overhead lights without being overstimulated. It will also prevent the constant going back and forth with the lights being turned off because they’re overwhelming, but need to be on so we can see to learn.
