This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My DonorsChoice project is designed to help create an atmosphere where children in our school can experience a peaceful environment in a setting within their school and discover how resilient they are. The requested furniture, lighting, and toys will be used to enhance the environment, making it conducive for therapy.
I will use items with my students to help teach them how to express their feelings and regulate their emotions.
Currently they are unable to do this and it impacts their social and academic progress at school.
By providing a comfortable environment in a safe, familiar place, the students will be able to tap into strengths they may have never identified and become emotionally healthy and whole.
