My Students

Hello donors! I'm a primary special education teacher in a Title I Chicago Public School and I'm in need of your generous donation to provide my kiddos with a calming corner/book nook space within my classroom. These past few years have been like no other and our children need our support, academically and social/emotionally, more than ever.

So, whether it be the challenges of the day or just wanting to curl up in a quiet space with a good book, a reading nook and a quiet cube is the place to be!

My Project

Many of my students can easily become dysregulated from a slight change to their daily classroom routine. Whether it be a fire drill or change of outdoor recess to indoor recess, these adjustments can cause any one of my students to become dysregulated. Providing them with a quiet space to read, take deep breaths, or just sit in peace and quiet, can help calm their little bodies and in turn return to task sooner. So with your help, I would like to provide my students with a book nook area and a quiet cube to retreat to within the classroom.
