My students need P.E. equipment including a set of balls to practice dribbling, a parachute,2 sets of balance boards and 24 cup speed stacks.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A typical day in K is full of excitement and learning. At the EOY I want my students to be confident readers and writers. Language is a challenge. I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists.-Steinbeck. PE can be art too

Over 70% of the school population is made of English Language Learners. 100% of the student body receives free lunch. Many families return to our school year after year and the surrounding community grows stronger each year. The students at my school inspire me to be the best teacher I can be. Our school strives to promote critical-thinkers who know how to solve problems, make informed decisions and generally navigate life in the 21st century.
My Project
This is the first year we do not have a P.E. coach at our school. I want to ensure my class doesn't miss out on all the fun things I remember in elementary school. The parachute is a staple in any kindergarten classroom and the balance boards will help all student enhance their balancing skills. I wanted each student to have their own ball so we can practice dribbling. Dribbling is a fun way to improve hand eye coordination and get kids interested in sports. Our playground is made of black top only so there is plenty of space for each student to have their own ball! Jump ropes always seem to be too long for kindergarteners. By ordering the ones I have selected I should be able to make the jump ropes custom sizes for some of my smaller students! Finally, Stacking cups! What's not to love? Build a tower,knock it down, run around and do it again!
Considering teachers at my school currently don't have access to ANY P.E.
equipment and have not had P.E. training, this would make a HUGE difference in my students lives. I want them to have access to all the fun things I remember from elementary school! The Parachute should be mandatory part of all kindergarten classrooms! Without these items, P.E. is not a time of the day that most students look forward to. I want my students to be excited and engaged about physical activity!
