Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At our school, all the regular education teachers must also teach PE. Being not so athletically inclined myself, I understand the fear of learning PE games using hard rubber or plastic equipment.
Growing up I remember getting hit in the face with a large rubber playground ball during dodgeball which isn't the best experience.
Many students have shared that they don't like the standard volleyballs because they hurt their arms. So what I am requesting is soft no-sting volleyballs for our volleyball unit so more students would want to play. I am also asking for replacement soft foam frisbees for our ultimate frisbee unit as many of our discs have gone missing, flying over fences.
Physical fitness and activity are so important for a healthy future and having equipment that reduces the reluctance to play because the equipment is painful to use would be phenomenal. Thank you for supporting us, so students can participate enthusiastically in PE!
