"Sitting still is overrated. It makes sense for the opera or for meditating, but in most classrooms and child care centers, it's given far more honor than it deserves. Children need to move." - Tom Hunter, National Association for the Education of Young Children.
The students at KATZ Academy Rosedale are bright and full of life.
They can bring a smile to anyone's face and they have a real love for learning. Everyday is a new adventure at our little school and I can not wait to see these students continue to grow and succeed.
My Project
At this age, it is imperative that the students learn how to work together. Teaching the students teamwork and cooperation is one of my biggest goals each year. By having basketball hoops I can teach the students a team sport and also incorporate the skills of throwing, catching, hand eye coordination, and accuracy.
I'd like to give the students the opportunity to work with the speed and agility equipment to improve their overall fitness skills. Fitness is a big component of and physical education program. I set up centers that the students work through each week.
By having this equipment it will give my students an opportunity to experience things they may not get to experience on a daily basis.
It is my duty to provide a quality physical education program to my students and I believe that this additional equipment will allow me to take our health and physical program to the next level and help me reach all of my students with different learning styles.
