This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low income, high poverty school, I know my students have challenges beyond what is presented in the classroom. It is my goal to make their school time safe, engaging and enlightening. All of our students are on government assistance and receive free breakfast and lunch. As with an unfortunate number of schools across the country, the physical education department is not at the top of many people's priority list. We must look to unique ways to acquire those items.

My students are eager, have lots of energy, and need opportunities to grow and learn in a fun and healthy environment.

They can take the knowledge they gain at school, and take it home to inspire their families to get up and move.

My Project

Help bring our PE department into this century with the purchase of an iPad mini.

The use of this technology in the physical education classroom is endless.

The iPad mini is an awesome tool for instruction, self-assessment and feedback. The iPad will be used to help students understand the relationships among the key components of physical education: motor skills, fitness, and physical activity.

It will also be used to record student's portfolio assessments, which are done several times a year and personal devices can not be used. The case and screen protector will help keep the iPad protected from getting scratched or broken is it where dropped. Please help bring our PE department into this century by donating to this project.
