My students need four sets of whiffle softballs and two polo sets.
“Exercise and recreation are as necessary as reading. I will rather say more necessary, because health is worth more than learning.” Thomas Jefferson
I teach Physical Education in a high poverty inner city public school in Indiana.
Our school has almost 600 students, K-6, who love Physical Education! I see every student twice a week. We rarely go outside to play, so I want to teach the students how to exercise inside. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could then go home and teach their families what they have learned? By doing this, the entire family will be exercising together, and everyone would be in shape!
Help me help them so we end the trend towards childhood obesity!
Whiffle softballs can be used for so many different games and activities. We use them for playing indoor softball and to play catch with the scoops for examples. The students love to play indoor hockey and I know they would love polo too. Having a couple of sets we can have 2 games going on each end of the court.
Your donation to this project will help over 600 students in my school get on the right road to do their part to fight childhood obesity.
With your help, we can get our students on the right track to start their own fitness program. Students will benefit from this program for many years to come. Teaching the students the importance of staying in shape is the key to their future.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
