This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a PE teacher at GES. We are a Title I, K-4 school that unfortunately took a big hit during the pandemic. We were learning from home for so long that many students lost the interest or were not able to engage in physical activity because of isolation. When we returned to in person learning, I noticed how much they lacked basic motor skills they needed.
The balance equipment will help my special education students tremendously, along with my younger students that are in kinder and 1st.
The scarfs will help with eye coordination skills in all levels. The basketball suspension hoops gives students and opportunity to practice form and have a successful shot when practicing basketball skills. Most of the equipment I got will help my students feel included and successful with the skills we are practicing. My goal is for students to have fun while engaging in physical activity.
