My students need basic Physical Education equipment to learn activities to live a healthy lifestyle such as oversized beach balls, pushballs, a chickens set of 6 and kickballs.
My students are inner city students, many of which are from low poverty families. My school just became a turnaround school in our school district, where we are looking to rebuild our school. Many of our teachers donate their money in order to have lessons geared toward student learning.
Many students are motivated to excel, and I believe with the proper resources and equipment, they'll be successful.
In PE class, I try to introduce the students to various activities and sports, and with your help, I can do just that. Thank you in advance for giving my students a chance at learning.
My Project
Many of my students come to class only wanting to play basketball or double dutch. I am trying to incorporate a variety of activities into their classes to get them excited about PE class. Being active is so important. My hope is that these students take the activities we learn in class, and play outside at home.
These materials will allow these students to play cooperative learning games, which will teach them to work together as a team to achieve a common goal.
For example, the oversized beach balls will allow Kindergarten and 1st grade to use hand/eye coordination as well as working with their classmates to keep the ball in the air. The chicken sets will be used for relay races.
