My Project
My goal is to provide a Field Day which would involve students with special needs to participate in a variety of physical fitness type of activities in physical education class.
The Field day activities would include using basic motor skills such as:
- Hand/Eye coordination (Egg on a spoon race)
-Rolling a ball (Bowling Activity)
-Jumping (Sack race)
-Running (relay races)
-Balance (stepping stones from point A to B)
Though there are only 5 students in this particular fully self-contained class, the needs of these students range with autism, delayed response, physical disabilities, non-verbal,etc., however; since working with these students, they are so excited in participating in pe class when it comes to different types of activities. Therefore; I feel very fortunate to work with these students for the last 2 years, but it does require different types of manipulatives and equipment. That is why we are seeking for ways to build our PE program for these fully self-contained students.
