This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a buzz of activity, focused on giving kids the opportunities that they may not get elsewhere. My 3rd-grade class is in a high-need, low-income public school, nestled in the heart of southern California. Each of the students in my class is a vibrant, excited learner who looks for the next opportunity to gain knowledge.

Each child in my classroom is a unique learner who comes to school each day ready to achieve at the highest levels.

As a teacher, it is my job to make sure the students have access to the materials they need, at all times, as well as use those materials in a way that will facilitate higher learning and achievement.

My Project

My students have spent more than a year sitting behind a computer at home. They have done very little moving over the course of that year, and I want to change that for them!

These PE supplies will help my students learn gross motor skills, help them get up and moving, and enable them to become more well rounded students!

Using the scarves and hoops, the kids will learn all of the gross motor skills required of a 3rd grade student. They will use the mats to engage in locomotor and aerobic skills, and the jumpropes will allow the kids to get their heart rates up on a regular basis. Each of these items are perfect for teaching physical education skills to the kids in an easy, timely manner.
