This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a charter school in Utah for students with autism, sensory processing disorders, and other students who would also benefit from our unique learning environment.

Children on the autism spectrum process information differently than children without an Autism Spectrum Disorder, which means that a child with autism learns differently than a child without autism.

These learning differences can, at times, create educational challenges that may seem impossible to overcome. These students do have talents and abilities that can be accessed when learning is structured in a way that is right for them. My students work hard and they are excited to explore, to discover and learn.

My Project

Covid-19 has changed the way Physical Education is being able to be delivered. With this new equipment, we will be able to stay socially distant while still working on core physical activities for strength and growth. It is so important to build our endurance, strength, and love for physical exercise, especially during the pandemic. Although times have changed and our precautions and rules for Covid-19 have changed the way a P.E. class can run, we have made it a goal to make P.E. a class to look forward to even in the midst of a crazy time! Luckily, we can use equipment such as the baseball gloves or ribbons to socially distance while learning a new sport skill. New basketball hoops will allow us to shoot hoops outdoors where we can hone in our skills while helping defer the spread of Covid-19.
