Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This P.E. (and recess) equipment will help my students explore and meet the different P.E. state standards. They will have a variety of equipment to choose from and indulge in different fun activities that will allow them to have positive days out on the playground.
Not only are they learning, but they're having fun!
This is a vital element in our schools today, keeping our kids active as well as healthy. My class will have a bi-weekly rotating P.E. schedule where they can pick and choose which activities they'd like to do, of course, aligned with the standards. This way, they are engaged and competitive out in the field and not just stuck in the play structure.
My students are special because they don't have the same opportunities as other well-funded schools in our county. My students are rich in cultural background and speak more than two languages! My students come from low-income homes in the east side of Salinas, and they are children from farm-working parents who work hard and are part of a multi-billion dollar ag industry, but unfortunately we don't see this money coming in to our school. We need your help to make things right.
