This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

CHS has over 3,000 students with 51 different languages spoken at home. Our school has been implementing the NJ PBSIS model for many years. PBSIS (Positive Behavior Support In Schools) is a system where we focus on the positive, rather than the negative. We try to use the 4:1 system where we give out 4 compliments or acknowledge 4 positive behaviors if we need to acknowledge a corrective behavior. Students are rewarded for doing the right thing and each month students are given a shout-out, with the chance to earn prizes. We are looking for community support to help us build our rewards system and purchase incentives that our high school students will enjoy and find useful.

Something that is always requested is Mustang apparel; this project is requesting a basic starter set for screen-printing including the machine setup, some various tapes, white screen-printing paint/ink, and the various accessories needed to successfully screenprint a t-shirt.

We are also requesting a range of sizes (small through 2XL) in maroon t-shirts so we can run a test group of shirts to give away to our students as rewards during the first marking period.

Thank you so much for supporting our community and helping us grow our PBSIS program. This program has proven successful in creating leaders, and positive global citizens, and has improved our school culture and climate. It helps our student's mental health by keeping the attitude of "do the right thing" on their minds and also helping them "fit in" because they will not have Mustang Apparel that doesn't cost them anything.
