My Project
Our 9th grade physics classrooms have shifted to project based learning. We want our units to be more hands-on to increase student engagement.
An upcoming project in physics will involve students creating a Rube Goldberg machine to better learn the energy concepts.
We need legos, marbles, dominos, foil, and tea lights so that students can design these machines. We also need more scissors so students can use other supplies to customize their machines. Student will create a machine that exhibits a chain reaction-type machine or contraption intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and (impractically) overly complicated way. Through this unit students will be learning patterns physics and energy concepts.
