PBIS - Student Positive Behavior Incentives for Remote Learners

Help me give my students incentives for showing up and working hard during Remote Learning! Social Emotional Well being!! This will help them feel celebrated and obtain resources for learning!

My Students

I'm lucky enough to teach Science in a Title I Middle School in the Bronx.

I work in a school where the majority of students live below the poverty line. My students are funny, kind, thoughtful, and are all eager learners. I am always looking for ways to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.

My students need access to the scientific knowledge and experiences that will prepare them for science classes in high school, be accepted into top universities, and contribute to the scientific discoveries of the future. Please help donate toward their social-emotional health and show them that STEM is important!

My Project

My students work so hard in class, so I do my best to make sure they have the best of the best. They love to learn and soak up everything that is interesting and amazing about the world of science. As they quickly approach high school and NYS regents, there is so much to get ready for. I do my best, not only to prepare them for high school​ but also for college as well.

STEM is so important!

Students are currently using Google classroom documents and slides to complete their work! Keeping kids engaged and motivated over remote learning can be a challenge. We started a competition in each of the remote classes I teach for perfect attendance, perfect work turn in, cameras on, and many other things I look for during class. On Friday however many tallies they get for doing any of those things get added to a wheel of names. If their name is picked, they get mystery mail from me and sometimes I go as far as dropping it off at their house if they live close to school. These materials are things they can use for remote instruction, notebooks to write in or things that will benefit their social-emotional side- sometimes we just need a little pick-me-up to know someone is thinking of us or that we’re doing a good job.
