My students need a laminating machine to help them successfully participate in the PBIS program.

I am the math inclusion special education teacher in a rural high school. The school has over 1,000 students that range from 9th to 12th graders in courses from Algebra I up to Advanced Mathematical Decision Making. The math inclusion class setting allows students who need extra support, in math, to receive the services without having to be pulled out of the classroom. Current district data indicates that students entering into the 9th-grade struggle with mathematical problem-solving. As a new teacher, my goal is to increase student achievement in the math department.
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success.
PBIS truly rocks!
All students develop and learn social, emotional, and behavioral competence, supporting their academic engagement. All educators develop positive, predictable, and safe environments that promote strong interpersonal relationships with students through teaching, modeling, and encouragement.
We are asking to have a laminator funded for the program. Our rewards system consist of tickets that the students earn from displaying positive behavior around the school. To keep the cost down on paper, we decided to laminate the tickets so we could reuse them. The students are so excited to participate in the program because it focuses on the positive in the school rather than the negative.
