Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Second grade is the best grade to teach. The students are energetic, excited, and eager to learn. Each day they arrive at school waiting to absorb the content being taught. It is important that these activities are rigorous and engaging. Hands-on materials are necessary for active participation.
With most students in low-income housing, it is crucial to give them the tools they need to be successful whether they're engaged in live or remote learning.
My students have many different learning styles due to their various cultures and backgrounds. It is imperative to give them every tool they need to be successful as most students learn differently. Hands-on materials and various literature will help them stay engaged and expand on their love of learning.
My Project
Our school will be launching PBIS this fall and in order to get students motivated, we are requesting small prizes for our K-5 classrooms. PBIS focuses on the positive outcomes that students exhibit and wants to continue to enforce those positive choices through praise and rewards.
Our project will provide teachers with incentives to reinforce students for positive behavior.
These incentives, like the stress balls, fidget cubes, emoji buttons, inspirational stickers, positive bookmarks, and more will help motivate my students to keep making good choices each day! These resources are a great way to say thank you to my students for being awesome!
