As a 3rd-grade reading teacher, I have many students on different reading levels including several ESL students new to our country. Being able to listen to audiobooks, and do independent work on apps and websites that will read to my students, is a very viable part of education in the technological world.
I am in a Title I school that receives funding for low-income students, and I am trying to give those students peace of mind without their families having to be responsible for one more costly supply.
Some students have used earbuds or cheaper headphones, and those have broken. I have supplied students with affordable earbuds several years in a row, but they do not last long at all. My students need something dependable that will give them the ability to listen to all of the educational resources with confidence that they will be able to hear everything.
