Help me give my students a vibrant, inspiring college and career center filled with yoga balls, bean bags, lamps, fidget toys, lapboards, organizers, chargers, and supplies—a welcoming space where goals are set and dreams take flight!
We are dedicated to helping every student succeed after graduation, whether that means college, trade school, or entering the workforce. With 60 percent of our students being the first in their families to attend college or trade school, 35 percent identifying as Hispanic, and 90 percent qualifying for free or reduced lunch, many face serious barriers as they prepare for life beyond high school.
Without support at home, students often feel overwhelmed and uncertain about their futures.
To address this, we are transforming an outdated computer lab into a College and Career Center, a welcoming and student focused space where they can explore opportunities, plan their next steps, and build confidence.
Thanks to a student senior project and donated paint, the room has already been refreshed in our school colors of red, white, and black. We are now seeking funding to furnish and equip the space with items that promote comfort, focus, and motivation. These include yoga balls, bean bag chairs, lap desks, desk and floor lamps, fidget toys, pens, pencils, lapboards, Expo markers, desk organizers, and Chromebook chargers.
This is more than just furniture. It is about creating a safe and supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and discover their future paths. The center will serve as a place for college and career exploration, scholarship guidance, resume and application support, and meaningful conversations about life after high school.
